My parents lived on Woodrow street for 65 years across from The Lyons family. So I can say I dont remember a time without the Lyons family because they have always been there.
But it the last 25 years, Wayne BIG became more than my neighbor ,Tammys uncle or Sams Brother.
Big became my friend
Wayne was the watch dog of Woodrow Street.. he kept a eye out for me and Mama, after Daddy past away.
Big was my faithful and dependable go to man.
From pumping Flat tire bicycles tires, to jumping off my dead car battery, to running across the street when I couldnt get Mama,on the phone, even watching my kids if I had to run to store..Valentines day cards he would leave on my car , our front porch talks and I could go on and on.. Memories I will cherish forever, of my life on Woodrow
Wayne BIG was willing to help anyone that needed it. He was a good man and I loved Wayne just as I do ALL The Family.
5 years ago when we moved , I couldnt say good bye..
so the last few weeks,
I feel blessed and thankful that yall included me with The Good Byes and The until we mean again.

I realize how hard Good Byes are but we know that Wayne is whole again and rejoicing in heaven

I am so sorry to see this obit. Wayne was one of the Gang, as we all grew up. He hung out with the McDowell kids on Copeland street. We played ball, road go carts, bicycles, danced, we all had different boy and girl friends seemed like every week, but our best times were sitting around listening to each others thoughts about life and the future. Bless him, he was always breaking his glasses, and I can hear him, now, saying my Mamas gonna tear me up when I get home. So many memories, we all grew up and went our separate ways. Memories are treasures and Wayne is a treasured memory with us. all. My thoughts and prayers with his family, as I know the days ahead will be very difficult. RIP, my friend, Anne
