Sheba Barton Taylor, 82, of 1203 W. Main Street, and widow of Arthur Lee “Ott” Taylor, Jr., passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at her home.
Born in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late David Charles and Virginia Hewitt Barton, Sheba retired from Sears after 30 years of service and was retired from Elegant Hand Cosmetology. She was a member at Lucas Avenue Baptist church where she was involved as a Sunday School Teacher, Mission Friends Leader, G.A’s Leader and a member of the choir.
Surviving are her children: Beth Taylor Davis of Honea Path and Scott A. Taylor of Laurens; a sister, Margaret E. Jackson (Red) of Laurens; grandchildren, Joshua Allen, Ashleigh A. Miller (Charlie), Chase Taylor, Andrew Allen (Kristy), Savannah Anderson (Brandon), and Luke Davis; great-grandchildren, Nicolas Fowler, Zadah Miller, Eva Miller and Marybeth Allen; step great-grandchildren, Chloe and Ethan Lear; a niece, Jill Bost (John) of Laurens; a nephew, Vince Jackson (Peggy) of Laurens; numerous great nieces and nephews and a special friends, Faith Norris, Donna Styron of Laurens and Shawnee Boyle of Charleston; her half-brother, David Barton, Jr. and her half-sister, Jenna Barton. A special thank you to Flop Abercrombie for being such a good friend to Sheba.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Jason Taylor, and her son in law, Gary Davis.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends before the service, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM at The Kennedy Mortuary.
