James Ryan "Scatter" Satterwhite, age 73, of 582 Crawford Road, husband of Peggy Griffin Satterwhite, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017.Born in Mountville, SC, he was the son of the late James Wister "P.J." and Corrie Davenport Satterwhite. James was a member of Little River Dominick Presbyterian Church. He retired from Southeastern Freight Lines in Mauldin and was the owner of Tavern Marine in Hickory Tavern.James served nine years in the SC National Guard, was a Mason and member of Princeton 129 AFM Lodge, and was an avid fisherman.In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Angie Satterwhite Powell and husband Terry of Landrum; a son, Jamie Satterwhite and wife Amy of Hickory Tavern; four grandchildren, Ryan Powell, Maggie Powell, Katie Powell and Owen Satterwhite; two sisters, Jean Carroll and husband Raymond of Germantown, TN and Betty Casey of Clinton; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. James K. Hamilton with burial following in Westview Memorial Park with military honors.The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday.Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.Condolences may be expressed online at www.thekennedymortuary.com.
