James Riley BailesGreenwoodJames Riley Bailes, 76, of 233 Headwater Drive and husband of Ellen Pigg Bailes passed away Monday, September 12, 2016, at the Hospice House of Laurens County in Clinton.Born in Simpsonville, he was the son of the late James Grady and Maggie Quinn Bailes. Mr. Bailes retired after 33 years from Gable's Clothing and was a member of First Baptist Church in Laurens. A volunteer fireman with the City of Laurens for 37 years, he was a Mason and member of Palmetto Lodge #19 and the Greenville Lodge of Perfection. He was also a Shriner and former chairman of trustees for the Laurens County Hospital.Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Kevin James Thomas (Samantha) of Greenwood, Riley Todd Bailes (Pamela) of Laurens, Gregory Carroll Bailes (Lynn) of Laurens, Douglas Joseph Thomas of Kona, HI; sisters, Lois Bailes Simmons of Laurens and Cheryl Bailes Kay (Dick) of Greenville; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Ariel Merritt (Daniel), Austin Duncan Thomas, Grayson Riley Bailes and Cameron James Thomas.Private cryptside services will be held at Forest Lawn Mausoleum in Laurens conducted by Rev. Rickey Letson and Rev. Tim Pigg with Fireman Honors and Masonic Rites.Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Bobby Smith Sunday School Class, 300 W.
