Phillip Ray Madden, Sr.LaurensPhillip Ray Madden, 80, of 65 Burns Circle passed away December 12, 2017, at Carolina Gardens Assisted Living in Laurens. Born May 12, 1937, in Laurens County, he was the son of the late John Ray and Nora Morgan Madden. The former owner of M & T Grocery, he was retired from Laurens Glass and was a member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. He was a member of Brewerton Masonic Lodge # 183.A loving husband and father, Phillip is survived by: his wife, Hilda Chapman Madden of the home; children, Phillip Ray Madden and wife Tammie of Greenwood, Johnny Madden and wife Karen of Laurens, and Anne McGill and husband Les of Clover; grandchildren, Clay Madden and wife Mary Margaret, Katie Madden, Leslie Beaty and husband Daniel, Holden McGill, Garrett Madden, and Grace Madden; and a sister, Patsy Braswell, and husband Eddie of Laurens.Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Alex D. Henderson.
