Peggy Barton CoatsLaurensPeggy Barton Coats, 83, of 118 Blakely Ave. and wife of the late Nelson Coats, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Regency Hospital in Greenville.Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late William Truman and Annie Maude Jackson Barton. A member of Lucas Avenue Baptist Church, Mrs. Coats was a loving mother who was dedicated to her children.She is survived by: her children, Page Mimms and husband Bob of Pawley's Island, Mike Coats and wife Martha of Simpsonville, Timothy Coats of Simpsonville, Thomas Coats and wife Susan of Simpsonville, and David Coats of Laurens; grandchildren, Brad Coats, Leslie Glad, Matt and William Mimms, Christopher and Ashley Veal, and Jessica Hall; and 7 great grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by 6 brothers and a sister.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Lucas Avenue Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Michael Post.
