Mary Workman

Mary Elizabeth Turner Workman, age 97, formerly of Workman Road, and widow of Grady W. Workman, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at National Healthcare Center in Laurens.Born in Switzer, SC, she was a daughter of the late James Otts Turner, Sr. and Rosa Lee Farmer Turner. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. Elizabeth was a retired beautician and a homemaker. Mrs. Workman is survived by: her sisters, Margaret McDowell of Spartanburg and Sara Turner of Greenwood.In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by: a brother, James Otts Turner, Jr.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, June 26, 2017, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Bob Allen with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary from 2:00 to 3:00 pm prior to the service.Memorials may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, 101 Richards Street, Laurens, SC 29360.
