Louis Albert PittsGray CourtLouis Albert Pitts, age 85, of 17162 Hwy 101 South, Hickory Tavern Community, and husband of Maureen Dowell Pitts, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at his home.Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Joseph Clifton and Maggie South Pitts. Louis was a US Air Force Veteran. He retired from BF Shaw and worked with Laurens County School District 55 at Gray Court Owings School after retiring. He was a member at Rabun Creek Baptist Church and was a Mason with Princeton Lodge #29.Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Gary D. Pitts and wife Angie, Dale A. Pitts and wife Vickie, and Randall S. Pitts, all of Gray Court; one brother, Curtis A. Pitts and wife Perry of Gray Court; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Louis was predeceased by siblings, Lloyd E. Pitts, Ralph E. Pitts, Joseph C. Pitts, Jr., and Ann P. Armstrong.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Rabun Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jayson Payne, Rev. Leland Nelson, and Rep. Mike Pitts.
