April 26, 1928 — June 22, 2017

Julia Wardell Bowie, 89, wife of the late Henry Eugene Bowie, Jr., passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017, at the Hospice House of Laurens County in Clinton. Born in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late Robert Thomas and Hattie Pearl Long Wardell. A member of First Baptist Church of Laurens, Mrs. Bowie was retired from Heritage Federal Savings and Loan. She is survived by: a son, Philip Allen Bowie and wife Laurie of Greenville; and grandchildren, Andrew Scott Holliday (Libby) of Easley and Grayson Anne Bowie of Greenville. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Henry Eugene "Buddy" Bowie, III.Graveside services will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Forest Lawn Cemetery conducted by Rev. Rickey Letson.The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Laurens County, P.O.
