Jonathan Reid Barbery

Jonathan Reid Barbery, age 43, of Laurens, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023, at VIA Hospice (Hospice of Laurens County) Hospice House in Clinton.

Born in Greenwood, he was a beloved son of Barney Richard and Carolyn Elaine Womble Barbery.  Jonathan was a gifted musician who loved to play guitar.  He was employed with Laurens County Disabilities and Special Needs Board where he made some special friends, and did his best to make a difference in the lives of those entrusted in his care. Jonathan had an unwavering faith in his Lord Jesus Christ and a heart of compassion.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his brother, Bradley Richard Barbery of Laurens, and numerous cousins.

Jonathan was predeceased by his grandparents, Robert “Spec” Barbery, Helen Waldrop Barbery, Donnie Womble, and Lillian Childress Womble.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel conducted by Chaplain David Cathcart.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary immediately following the memorial service.
