Jessie Garrett HughesGray CourtJessie Garrett Hughes, age 91, of 154 Shiloh Church Road, and widow of John H. Hughes, Sr., passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017, at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late A.B. and Mary Hall Garrett. Jessie retired from the textile industry and was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ada Chapter 6.Surviving are one son, John H. Hughes, Jr. and wife Irene of Princeton; three grandchildren, Amy Hughes, Ronda Taylor and husband Jimmy "JT", and Brad Hughes and wife Vickie; six great-grandchildren, Zachary Hance, Demi Hughes, August Hughes, Brittney Grubbs, Chelsie Anderson, and Brandon Taylor; one brother, Joe Garrett; and one sister, Ruth Smith.In addition to her husband and parents, Jessie was predeceased by one son, David G. Hughes; one brother, Wilton Garrett; a granddaughter, Susan Elaine Hughes, and her step-mother, Catherine Garrett.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 13, 2017, at Shiloh United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Forest Mixon with burial following in the church cemetery.The family will be at the residence on Sunday.
