Dora Eugenia "Jean" Abercrombie BedsoleLaurensDora Eugenia "Jean" Abercrombie Bedsole, 97, widow of the late Evans Mark Bedsole, went to be with the Lord on October 28, 2016.She was born in the Dials community of Gray Court on December 30, 1918, to the late Lewis Henry and Ella Bess Robertson Abercrombie. Mrs. Bedsole was the last surviving member of her family and a lifetime member of Dials United Methodist Church. She graduated from Gray Court Owings High School and from Draughon's Practical Business College in Greenville, SC. She was employed with the Laurens Electric Cooperative, Inc. for 33 years, retiring in 1982.Mrs. Bedsole will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews: Brenda (Charles) Blanton DeRieux; Margaret (Aaron, deceased) Blanton Thomas, DeLynn (Tommy) Lanford, and Peggy (Warren, deceased) Henderson Grubb, George (Elin) Abercrombie, Roland (Tammy) DeRieux, George Andrew (Wing-Sy) DeRieux, a sister-in-law, Agnes Abercrombie, a cousin, Lois Abercrombie, many great nieces and nephews, special loved ones, Pat and Elsie King, and her many Friends.A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel conducted by Pastor Forest Mixon. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Dials United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 555, Gray Court, SC 29645 or Hospice of Laurens, P.O. Box 178, Clinton, SC 29325.Our family would like to thank the many wonderful, caring, loving people who make up the Hospice of Laurens County and the caregivers, Sarah McJunkin and Sallie Goldman who loved her and were a special part of her live for the past year. The entire dental staff sends our deepest sympathy to the family. "Aunt Jean" was like an extended family member to our office. We are so happy that she is reunited with her beloved "Slim".
