JB "Jake" DavisJB "Jake" Davis, 96, of Graham, NC and formerly of Laurens, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 16, 2017, at White Oaks of Burlington. Born on April 28, 1920, to the late Grover and Annie Gwynn Davis, and was married for 67 years to the late Vivian Nabors Davis who passed away in 2006.My Dad served in World War II and was stationed in Japan. He worked close to 50 years in textiles and retired from Deering Milliken. He was of the Baptist faith; and before his decline in health, he attended First Baptist Church in Haw River.My Dad was a gentle man who loved his family. He loved to work in his garden and to hunt and fish. He got such pleasure sitting in a fishing boat with his fishing line in the water. He was a great family man who took over providing for his mom and sisters in his early teens after the death of his father. He worked hard and provided us with a wonderful home.He is survived by his daughter, Patricia (Patsy) Davis Rohrer; grandchildren, Rich Rohrer and wife Tammy, Joey Rohrer and wife Vicki, Kevin Rohrer and wife Carey; great-grandchildren, Amber, Jordan, Wesley, Drew, Payce, and Koen; great great-grandchildren Kenzie, Natalie and Sophia. He is also survived by many special nephews, nieces, and brothers and sisters in law. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Floyd Keith Davis; his sisters Alice Hellams, Olivia Craig, and Mary Davis.A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11:am. What a kind and gracious man! How blessed I feel to have been impacted so greatly by such a loving person. This great niece-in-law feels extremely thankful to have been touched by the life of this wonderful man. Praying much for the family. :heart:
