George Alton "Puddin" Rumph, Jr.Cross AnchorGeorge Alton "Puddin" Rumph, Jr. age 53, of 330 Dillard Road, and husband of Linda Rumph, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Laurens County Memorial Hospital.Born in Clinton, he was a son of Martha Ann Stevens of Union and the late George A. Rumph, Sr. Puddin was a charter member of Glory Baptist Church in Union. He was formerly employed by Torrington for 11 years and was formerly the owner of Rumph Tire & Auto in Cross Anchor. He was currently employed with Sterilite in Clinton.Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are his children, Brandy Rochester and husband Joshua of Union, and Richie Wade of Spartanburg; sisters, Catherine Prince and husband Michael of Cross Anchor and Sharon Black of Union; grandchildren, Davis Rochester, Ricky Wade, and Kinsleigh Wade; uncle, Ben Rumph and wife Cecille; nephew, Joey McLeod; nieces, Kristin Prince, Niccole Black, and Kendall Prince; great niece, Natalee Simmons; great-nephews, Kaiden Prince, and Karter Prince.Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Glory Baptist Church in Union conducted by Rev. Lee Franklin and Rev. Ben Rumph with burial following in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Cross Anchor.The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at Glory Baptist Church from 2:00-3:00pm, prior to the service on Saturday.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the George A.
