Garie Mae Hughes Davis, age 100, of Laurens, stepped into glory on November 28, 2020, at Carolina Gardens Assisted Living Center, following a recent period of declining health.

 

Mrs. Garie Mae was born on October 14, 1920, and recently celebrated her 100 th birthday among friends and residents at Carolina Gardens.

 

Garie Mae was married to Alvin Davis who passed away in 1967.  Since that time, she was totally devoted to their two children, Mary Davis Smith and husband Alan, and Gary Davis and wife Paulette.  In addition to her children there are now four grandchildren, Molly Smith, Cari Fleeman (Blake), Sarah Davis, and Jessie Eggers (Jake); and six great-grandchildren, Colt, Austin, and Maggie Smith, Amy and Emily Fleeman, and Archie Eggers.  She is also survived by one sister, Joanne Boulware of Rock Hill.

 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 4, 2020, at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Scott Brewington and Rev. Phil Hall.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that you make a donation to Carolina Gardens Assisted Living Center, Hospice of Laurens County, or to a charity of one’s choice.
