Doris Ann Eppley Johnson, 71, of 646 Westwood Drive and wife of William Charles Johnson, Jr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, surrounded by friends and family.Born in Lockhart, she was a daughter of Frances Riddle Eppley Hellams of Laurens and the late Paul O. Eppley, Sr. A member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, Mrs. Johnson was formerly employed with Laurens County Hospital and 3M and retired as Deputy Clerk of Court Child Support for Laurens County.Surviving in addition to her husband and mother, are her children, David Charles Johnson and wife Joan of Sacramento, CA and Julie Johnson Lawson and husband Bobby of Hickory Tavern; siblings, Paul Eppley and wife Ann of Laurens, John Eppley of Houston, TX, James C. Eppley, Sr. and wife Lynn of Laurens, Billy Fred Hellams and wife Shirley of Anderson; grandchildren, Robert, Kole, Jordi and Maddi Lawson all of Hickory Tavern; and numerous nieces, nephews and spiritually adopted children.In addition to her father, she was predeceased by a brother, Franklin Eppley and sisters, Margaret Eppley Smith and Betty Sue Eppley.A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, August 17, 2017, at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life at 4:00 PM in the church sanctuary conducted by Rev. Alex Henderson and Rev. Tony Crouch.The family will be at the home of her daughter, Julie Lawson, 13039 Hwy. 76 W., Gray Court and they will also receive friends at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church Fellowship Center immediately following the Celebration of Life service.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church Youth or Children Ministries, 499 Chestnut Ridge Road, Laurens, SC 29360.Condolences can be expressed to the family at www.thekennedymortuary.com.
