Don Ashmore

May 15, 1960 — January 7, 2018

Donald Monroe "Don" Ashmore, age 57, of 258 Wham Lawn Road, and husband of Melodie Darnell Ashmore, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.Born in Laurens, he was a son of Virginia Bryant Ashmore and the late Clarence "Monroe" Ashmore. Don retired from M.R. Cook & Associates and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley. His wife, kids, and grandchildren were his world.Surviving in addition to his wife and his mother are five children, Dustin Monroe Ashmore of Gray Court, Christopher Alan Ashmore and wife Jessica of Gray Court, Ryan Ashmore and wife Kimberly of Valdosta, GA, Matt Ashmore and wife Kellie of Laurens, Donald Monroe "Donny" Ashmore, II and wife Stacy of Waterloo; two brothers, Kenneth Ashmore and wife Samantha of Laurens, and Lonnie Ashmore and wife Lisa of Galax, VA; ten grandchildren, Hayley Ashmore, Katie Ashmore, Dusty "Bubba" Ashmore, Heidi Ashmore, Holly Ashmore, Barrett "Bear" Ashmore, Kaylin Ashmore, Kristin Rice, Austin Rice, and Leland Corino; and also surviving are Brooke Ashmore of Laurens and Leila Ashmore of Kentucky.In addition to his father, Don was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Gabriel "Gabe" Hill, two brothers, David Ashmore and Danny Ashmore, and a sister, Nancy Locklear.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Laurens First Assembly of God conducted by Rev. James Owens with burial following in Laurens City Cemetery.The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
