Brian Scott Humphries, 41, of Laurens and husband of Jessica Christine Stanton Humphries, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018.Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Ann Hopkins Lanier and husband Jimmy Lanier of Laurens and the late Robert Lee Humphries. Brian was employed with R.A.I. in Gray Court. Everyone who knew and loved Brian remember him as a big guy with an even bigger personality. He had a big laugh, and when you heard it, you couldn't help but laugh with him. He had a big heart, and he loved to help and encourage people any way he could. When he loved someone, he loved them with everything he had inside of him. The material things he loved most on this earth were his Clemson Tigers, fishing, hunting, and football. The immaterial things he loved most were God, his wife, his family, and his friends. He took immense pride in being a welder, and he was a very talented one at that. Though we mourn the loss of such an amazing person and we will miss him deeply, we can take comfort in knowing that he is safe in the arms of Jesus and he will never know pain or sorrow ever again. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by: his paternal grandmother, Sara Templeton and husband Leroy of Gray Court; brothers, Ben Lindler and wife Erin and Devon Humphries and wife Katie of Woodruff; aunts, Libby Hudson and husband Danny of Laurens, Bea Gaffney and husband Rick of Rock Hill, and Patricia Thompson and husband Cecil of Gray Court; a niece, Brittany Humphries of Laurens; and a step-mother, Shalla Humphries of Enoree. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by: his maternal grandmother, Lula Mae Yarborough; paternal grandfather, Elton Humphries; and brother, Bobby Lee Humphries.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 29, 2018, in The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes and will greet friends at the graveside immediately following the interment service.
