Mable “Annette” Simmons Adams, age 82, of 501 Blalock Drive, and widow of William Bryan Adams, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at her home.
Born in Joanna, she was a daughter of the late W.T. “Jack” and Madge Sorrow Simmons. Annette was formerly employed with Greenwood Mills in Joanna and later worked at Frampton Hall in Clinton. In her later years, Annette was a caregiver to many and was always willing to help those in need. She was a member of Joanna Assembly of God.
Surviving are her two sons, David B. Adams and wife Dana of Clinton, and Dale T. Adams of Joanna; one sister, Judy Simmons Weaver and husband Donald of Kinards; three grandchildren, Jennifer Francis, Julianne Webb and husband Bobby, and Jon David Adams and wife Rachel; and five great-grandchildren; Devin Francis, Austin Francis, Tori Head, Lizzi Head, and Zoey Lipford; plus one great-grand that is expected to arrive in February.
In addition to her husband and parents, Annette was predeceased by her daughter, Debra Swayngham; one brother, Bobby Simmons, and one sister, Iris Bragg.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 18, 2019, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Robert Forehand and Rev. Raymond Burrows with burial following in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
