Angelika Schmidt, 78, wife of the late Michael J. Schmidt, of Simpsonville SC, passed away on October 31, 2023.

She was born in Dresden, Germany and raised in Hamburg, Germany. She lived in Holland, England, and then the United States – relocating to California initially, then New Mexico and finally settling in South Carolina in 1992. She was a well-known top producing realtor for C. Dan Joyner Co. (initially Prudential and now Berkshire Hathaway) whose achievements over 25 years in the Upstate were recognized by membership to the President’s Circle.  She loved cooking and hosting parties, especially her annual Oktoberfest!  Her charisma would brighten up a room; she always made her presence known.   We will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her son Mark (Shannon) Schmidt, daughter Julia (Nick) Paduano, stepson Michael Ray (Dawn) Schmidt, stepdaughter Jonnie (Karl) Reinhardt; grandchildren Quentin Paduano, Laurel Schmidt, August Paduano, Braeden Schmidt, and Rory Paduano; step-grandchildren Karah (Ryan) Burgess, Ambyr (Jeremy) Lucas, Ryan Schmidt, Jacob (Jennifer) Haberman; step great-grandchildren Taylor Lucas, Luke Haberman and Andrew Haberman; sister Jutta Hoffmann, nephews Philipp (Tina) Hoffmann, Christian (Christina) Hoffman; great nephews Lasse and Henri Hoffmann, great niece Paulina Hoffmann, and her faithful companion dog, Coco.  Special thanks to Ellen Paduano and Dr. Connie Blackstone for the loving care they have assisted us in giving her over the years.

A celebration of her amazing life will be held in January for family and friends.
