Allene Clark HockerLaurensAllene Clark Hocker, 90, wife of the late Donald B. "Jack" Hocker, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Laurens County Memorial Hospital.Born in Evansville, IN, she was the daughter of the late Hubert J. Clark and Gynith Bufkin Clark Gerlach. A member of Atonement Lutheran Church and the Eastern Star, she was retired from Laurens District 55 School District where she was the principal's secretary for many years at Laurens Jr. High.She is survived by: her son, the Honorable Don Hocker and wife Gayle of Laurens and a daughter-in-law, Jean Hocker of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Ashley Grothe (Scott), Christopher Hocker (Maggi), Lauren McCoy (Michael), Michael Hocker (Mandy), and Kathryn Hocker; and great grandchildren, Sydney and Leyton Grothe and Linley McCoy.In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Tom Hocker and her stepfather, Arthur Gerlach.Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 13, 2017, at Martha Franks Rasor Chapel conducted by Rev. Rick Inman and Dr. Lawton Neely. A private committal will be held in Westview Memorial Park.The family will be at the home of her son, 2 Parkview Ct. in Laurens and will receive friends at Martha Franks immediately following the memorial service.Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.thekennedymortuary.com.
