Alfred Bell "Al" JacksMountvilleAlfred Bell "Al" Jacks, age 89, of 2298 Lisbon Road, and husband of Mildred Lee Nelson Jacks, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018, at his home.Born in Mountville, he was a son of the late Isaac Erett and Allie Bell Fuller Jacks. Al was a graduate of Mountville High School and then went to work in Washington, DC at the Chevrolet dealership. He then served two years in the US Army during the Korean War. In 1963, Al opened, along with his wife, A&M Automotive that they ran until 2014. He was also a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church in Mountville.Surviving in addition to his wife of 65 years are their children, Julie J. Crisp of Mountville, SC and Cathy L. Merrell of Chapin, SC; brother, George M. Jacks and wife Ann of Lynchburg, VA; sister, Doris T. Moore of Taylors, SC; six grandchildren, Chris Hatley, Melissa Hatley, Jamie Crisp, Kirby Payne, Caitlan Springer, and Alex Payne; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Burns and Emilia Springer; and his loving cat, Booboo.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 8, 2018, at Beaverdam Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Phil Bryson.
