Obituary:
Mary Ellen Hellams Faulkner, 91, of 103 Rocky Springs Church Road, widow of Olin Jack Faulkner, Sr., died Sunday, July 25 2010 at Springfield Place in Newberry, SC. Born in Mountville, she was a daughter of the late Robert Roy and Ruth Melissa Davenport Hellams. She was retired from Palmetto Spinning, attended Temple Baptist Church and was an avid reader and gardener. Surviving are five daughters, Ruth Tumblin of Greenwood, Mildred Kuykendall and husband Clifford of Laurens, Linda Rogers and husband David of Jacksonville, NC, Betsy Barker, and Joann Dickson, both of Laurens; five sons, Bobby Eugene Faulkner and wife Velma of Clinton, Michael Faulkner and wife Brenda of Harrisburg, PA, Claude Earl Faulkner and wife Donna of Newberry, Allen Faulkner and wife Judy of Johnson City, TN, and Steve Faulkner of Laurens; four brothers, R. B. Hellams, J.Y. Hellams and wife Kathleen both of Conestee, SC, James Hellams of Lyman, Roy Hellams, Jr. and wife Sandy of Simpsonville; one sister Emma Benscotter and husband Bob of Conestee, SC; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Olin Faulkner, Jr.; a brother Jack Hellams and a sister Edna Franklin. Funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Temple Baptist Church conducted by Rev. David Johnston with burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at Kennedy Mortuary on Tuesday from 7 – 9 pm.
