Obituary:
Blanche Martin Campbell, 84, formerly of 15 Smythe Street and resident of National Healthcare Center in Clinton, widow of William Earl Campbell, went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Laurens County Hospital. Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Daisy Baldwin Martin. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and former employee of the Laurens Shirt Plant and a private sitter; a member of Lucas Avenue Baptist Church, the WMU, and the Adult Choir. She was also a Sunday School Teacher and Training Union Teacher. Surviving are one son, Rev. James Earl Campbell and wife, Debbie of Abbeville; two daughters, Linda Gail Waters and husband, Rev. Daniel of Greer; Nancy Campbell Mahida and husband, Rev. George of Laurens; one son in law, Dale Jackson of Joanna; one sister, Mary Etta Wilson of Greenville; fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Norma Jean Jackson and three brothers, Wade Martin, Wayne Martin, and Robert Martin. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Lucas Avenue Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Bob Cato and Rev. Michael Post with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at her former residence and will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lucas Avenue Baptist Church, 101 Lucas Avenue, Laurens, SC 29360.
