Name: Frank C. Brooks Date: May 4th, 1922 - March 5th, 2010 Obituary: Frank Cody Brooks, 87, of 3389 Lakeview Drive husband of Doris O’Dell Brooks passed away Friday, March 5, 2010, at his home. Born in Simpsonville, he was a son of the late Sam Hunter and Mary Elizabeth Nalley Brooks. Mr. Brooks was a US Navy veteran having served in WW II, was a retired Independent Life insurance agent and also worked with The Kennedy Mortuary. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church where he was a deacon, was a Mason and member of Schroder Lodge #144 and a Shriner. Surviving in addition to his wife are four daughters, Brenda B. Douglas and husband, Gerald of Laurens, Ann B. Clark of Hilton Head, Susan B. Steele and husband, David of Myrtle Beach and Frankie J. Brooks of the home; one brother, Harvey Lee Brooks of Laurens; two sisters, Inez B. Huffine and Iva B. Holliday both of Laurens; seven grandchildren, Lisa Rhodes, Donya Dean, Todd Douglas, Cody Clark, Lindsay Clark, Jason Steele and Derrick Steele; seven great-grandchildren, A. J. McIntyre, Christopher Rhodes, Austin Rhodes, Matthew Fuller, Brett Dean, Skylar Douglas and Addyson Pitts; an extended family member, Carol McDowell. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Monday, March 8, 2010, at Kennedy Mortuary Chapel conducted by Revs. Ronnie Blackwell and Allen Gregory. Burial with Military Honors will be in Westview Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Monday at The Kennedy Mortuary prior to the service.
