Name: Buck Willis Date: February 26th, 1928 - February 1st, 2010 Obituary: John Cleon “Buck” Willis, Jr., 81, of 216 Meadow Rd, husband of Martha Johnson Willis, passed away Monday, February 1, 2010, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Owings, he was the son of the late John Cleon Willis, Sr. and Alva Stoddard Willis. He was a US Army Veteran, had retired from the SC Tax Commission and a member of St. James United Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Sherri Willis Fowler and husband Tommy of Simpsonville; four sisters, Dot W. Owings of Greenville, Sara W. Gambrell of Clemson, Sadie W. Rice of Greenville, and Jane W. Craddock and husband, Mel of Asheville, NC; two grandchildren, Chad A. Prather of Grayson, GA and Heather M. Fowler of Simpsonville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Donna W. Prather and a sister, Katie W. Givens. Graveside services will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Forest Lawn Cemetery conducted by Rev. Charlie Short. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.
